Telling Stories Through Watercolor

One of the coolest things about painting with watercolor is that it lets the artist play. The end result can be totally different depending on the pressure applied to the brush, the amount of water introduced to the palette, the way the paint is layered, the type of brushes used. I could wax poetic about the millions of reasons I love watercolor, but I have a feeling you’d rather I cut to the chase, so I’ll share my favorite: as a lifelong artist, I’ve come to appreciate how watercolor can be used to express and influence emotions. I’m excited to share my work with you!

I’m also a fan of abstract art, leaning toward themes like erosion and what I like to refer to as “abstract landscapes” or “abstract bouquets,” playing with saturation and lines. Commissions are always welcome and I love infusing my style into pieces I hope you and your loved ones can cherish always.

I was lucky to grow up surrounded by people who encouraged me to use art as a way of expressing myself just as naturally as I might use any other form of communication. I’m most comfortable with a paintbrush or book in my hand (I’m a librarian by day), a LaCroix on the desk, and a candle lit nearby to get me in the right headspace. I’m happy to share my art with you and tell you more about who I am and what Dainty Knotts Art is all about.
